HNBR - Compression

HNBR - Compression

HNBR - Compression

(OP)
Does anyone have mechanical property data for this rubber type? I want to know the following based on these design data:
-- Rubber element OD-50,8mm, ID-35mm, Length-50mm
-- After Compression it is squeezed together such that it expands into a pipe with ID 52,5mm
Q: What is the new length?

I only need a rough approximation

RE: HNBR - Compression

Assume Poisson's ratio = 0.5 (i.e. incompressible) and calculate it from thick-wall cylinder equations.  It'll be close enough.  Assume a modulus (E) of about 300 to 350 psi, just don't expect to be very close in estimating pressure required for a given deflection.
