Assembly hole pattern back to part (Intersect)

Assembly hole pattern back to part (Intersect)

(OP)
I have an assembly that I want to use the location of holes on part 2 to locate holes in the mating part (part 1), so that no matter where I move part 2 to, the holes will follow.  I want these holes to show up in the part file for part 1 (so that drawings can be created) and I would like to be able to pattern part 2 with holes.  I have found a way, using the Intersect option, to get the original set to work, but when I try to pattern, the patterned holes don't show up.  Thanks for your help.

RE: Assembly hole pattern back to part (Intersect)

Another way to do this is to have the holes in part 1, assemble the 2 parts together, then while in the assembly Activate part 2, and create the hole pattern using coaxial holes.
