Seismic force for Mechanical Equipment

(OP)
We have a large piece of mechanical equipment that is self supporting and weighs approximately 300k.  The manufacturer did not supply seismic loads. We did the superstructure design but not the foundation design. We need to supply the foundation engineers with the seismic loads. Which chapter in ASCE 7-05 do we use? How do we determine the Cs factors?

RE: Seismic force for Mechanical Equipment

Chap 11,12,13 . Look for attachment of mechnaical unit seismic loads.

RE: Seismic force for Mechanical Equipment

Read Section 13.6.  Your seismic design force is calculated using equation 13.3-1.

RE: Seismic force for Mechanical Equipment

Consider Chapter 15 as well.
