Hysys Thermosyphon Bug

Hysys Thermosyphon Bug

Hysys Thermosyphon Bug

(OP)
When i install thermosysphon in hysys it shows a higher temperature at the thermosyphon inlet and a lower temperature at the thermosyphon outlet at the same pressure ,although enthalpy is being added to the system . This is when tray efficiency is set to 70 % which is normal

however if you set the tray efficiency to 100% the situation becomes normal ,but 100 % efficiency cannt be used

has any body got any idea why ?

RE: Hysys Thermosyphon Bug

You can run the simulator with 100% tray efficiency - in fact I would recommend it.  But you only use a number of trays equal to the theoretical stages.  Actual trays would be simulator stages divided by expected tray efficiency.

The reason the temperatures are odd is that the 70% tray efficiency is that the compositions are shifted away from equilibrium, and the PH flash may result in a reduced temperature.
