Pressure Control Loop PID Parameters
Pressure Control Loop PID Parameters
(OP)
Hi all,
I am interested in pre calculating my PID loop parameters for a pressure control system for a gas pipeline.
The pipeline draws methane gas from a landfill up to a blower station. The blower station draws a slight vacuum in the landfill (~ -8kPa) and provides pressurised gas to a flare at 20kPa.
The gas pipeline has a volume of approximately 250m^3. The typical gas flow is ~ 2,000 to 3,000 m^3 per hour.
Based on 10% change in gas inflow, a 10% change in pressure would take ~5 minutes. It appears to be quite a slow acting loop and so I would think the k and I terms would be relatively low.
Can anyone give some guidance on how to calculate the K and I terms for a PID loop.
Thanks for your advice on this.
