I used to do this all the time in NX4 but it wont work now... what am I missing?

Just select the desired view on the current Drawing sheet, press MB3 and select 'Cut'.  Now open the Drawing sheet you wish to place the view on and select 'Paste'.

Oh brother.... something so simple! lol

Can you tell me what the the tracer lines are all about in drafting space? As I mouse over my parts list and other items these lines are flying all over the screen... they almost look like the mating conditions in model space. most of them seem to originate from the origin and then dissapear.

I don't like being so version ignorant after mastering 4.

Yes, I've seen them as well but I'm not sure what causes them, however they appear to be only a display issue as they do not leave any permanent 'artifacts' behind.
