Is there a document where it is stated what schedule pipe we should use for LPG loading skid for truck loading. Pressure is 275 psig @ 330 gpm.

Thanks,

My first guess is 4" SCH 40.

Yes.  The design code.

API 2510 may be of some value to your work.

RE: Pipe Schedule for LPG truck loading

NFPA 58 section 3-2.8.2 (b) (1) The pipe shall be Schedule 40 or heavier.

Footnote in the interpertations is that ANSI B31.3 can be used but NFPA 58 is more convient.

RE: Pipe Schedule for LPG truck loading

"Or heavier" is an interesting wall thickness.  Perhaps B31.3 would be more convenient in determining that dimension.

Do you guys think we need vapor eliminator on top of strainer for said flow conditions. I am having a hard time finding a 3" 300# strainer/vapor eliminator combo in 4-6 weeks LT. I am almost thinking of excluding the option of air elimination and using just the strainer.

What do you guys suggest.

RE: Pipe Schedule for LPG truck loading

plain ol strainer from Weamco, Tulsa, OK will do.  I'd use 6" if you have several hundred feet of line, 4" has about 1.15 psi/100'.

It will be used on loading rack where there is minimal piping. Just need to use so we can protect the PD meter.

Do you think we need vapor elimination.

RE: Pipe Schedule for LPG truck loading

you better not need vapor elinination else your meter will not be in compliance with API measurement standards.

You should put a high point vent so you can blow it down before opening it.  And do not put a by-pass around it.

Is this in API MPMS 5.2 PD meter or API MPMS 6.2 Loading rack or a different document I may have to download.

I found it. Thanks
