AISC Design Guide 1 - Coulmn Base Plates
AISC Design Guide 1 - Coulmn Base Plates
(OP)
I have AISC's Design Guide 1 - Column Base Plates copyrighted in 2003 by AISC. This is based off of Allowable Stress Design with examples of LRFD. Does anyone know if AISC plans on revising this to incorporate Allowable Strength Design?

One day sick and you are bored out of your mind. I have been retired for sixteen months and twenty days and I am fighting ennui as best I can. If you find a cure for this problem, please pass it along.

My DG01 only goes up to Appendix C. What is Appendix D?

You're probably kicking yourself now after asking that question!
In case you're not: ACI 318-Appendix D

I would love to travel, but there are a couple of matters at home which have to be cleared up before I go. I will let you know when I am setting sail for Oz.
Dik,
No, it isn't really too bad. In fact, I am beginning to think that I am well suited to idleness. Occasionally I get the urge to do something useful, but if I wait a bit, the feeling usually goes away.

FYI - This is the answer I received last year when I asked AISC about the forthcoming 3rd version.
"I do not have a date as to when the next version of Design Guide 1 will be released. In general, there were numerous typos and mathematical errors in some of the design examples that resulted in the decision to stop distribution, rework and reissue the Design Guide; rather than to make addenda. The conceptual information presented is generally not the problem, but some of the typos could be misleading if blindly followed without thorough understanding of the principals involved.
One prime example is an error in the headings of Table 3.2 where the headings for the concrete pullout strength were listed as steel grades, rather than concrete strengths. Another example is in Example 4.11 (page 42) where the ASD load is listed as 46.5 kips, while the number in Example 4.5 (page 35) from which this load was taken, is 42.8. The wrong number was carried through the example."
