recommended maximum velocities in pipes

recommended maximum velocities in pipes

(OP)
Hello

this is the first time i write in this forum, and I would be pleased if someone could help me.

For pipe sizing in combined cycles I use Bechtel graphics. (They give the recommended velocity in terms of the internal pipe diameter and the type of fluid). GE recommendations give a table with the maximun velocity or a range of velocities depending only on the type of the fluid (and not according to the pipe diameter).

Does anyone know how these graphics (Bechtel) and tables (GE) are calculated?

Thank you very much
