LOAD FLOW ANALYSIS AND ECONOMIC ANALYSIS

LOAD FLOW ANALYSIS AND ECONOMIC ANALYSIS

LOAD FLOW ANALYSIS AND ECONOMIC ANALYSIS

(OP)
Can someone explain me as to how load flow study can be used relate a system's economic analysis.  Can Load flow study for building be used to analysis the economic of that building?.

RE: LOAD FLOW ANALYSIS AND ECONOMIC ANALYSIS

A load flow analysis can help to determine the total power consumption and losses of a system. By assigning a cost to the load and losses, you can use the load flow results for economic studies.
Normally for an economic study you would want to run a series of load flows over different load conditions in order to come up with values and costs for energy over a given period.

RE: LOAD FLOW ANALYSIS AND ECONOMIC ANALYSIS

Perhaps the load profiling and load flow study are getting mixed up a bit. Load profiling performed at strategic points can be used to determine which part or process of a facility consumes how much power and cost of that power can be assigned to appropriate process, department, etc.

Load flow study as usually meant by a power analysis software can be used to verify voltage drops and adequacy of transformers, cables and switchboard/panelboard sizing. It has more to do with design than economics.
