draft templates

draft templates

(OP)
Hi all,

When we started working with solid edge, about 2 years ago, we've made templates for our drafts.
Since then some texts have changed in these templates.

Older drawings still have the old template.

Is there a solution for (ex-)changing the old templates in the old drawings to the newest template?

RE: draft templates

Hi,

there is a program to do that but unfortunately it won't
work with SE-64 because it's 32-bit nor with V100 because
of an error within the API.
You can do it manually by Copy & Paste -- not very encouraging
when there are a lot of drafts to have their backgrounds
changed. Also notice: when the old draft contains a block and
the new one contains a block and both blocks have identical
names Copy & Paste will not replace the block. You have to
delete the block in the old template before doing the
Copy & Paste.

hi donyoung

Thanks for your answer.

I was afraid I had to do it manually, I've been doing that already.

RE: draft templates

We have a utility that automates this. It works great with ST (V100) too. Just need to test on x64.

We should be releasing it soon
