Expansion Tank - 25% Ethylene Glycol
Expansion Tank - 25% Ethylene Glycol
(OP)
Hi,
I just joined the boards today, and am a recent graduate for mechanical engineering.
I am designing an expansion tank for a chilled water loop, and it asks for the expansion coefficient for ethylene glycol.
I cannot find a ethylene glycol expansion table anywhere. were going from 21F to 60F (25% EG)
So If anyone can point me to an EG expansino table, that would be excellent!
Steve

I used the densities from the ASHRAE 2005 Fundamentals handbook, they give the density of 20% and 30% Ethylene glycol at multiple temperatures.
I was able to acquire a sufficient calculation from the density, the only problem is I would love to verify it with a second source.

attached is a pdf file with the required properties graphs for Ethylene & Propylene Glycol for all the different concentrations including the state equations ....

What second source are you referring to? It's not like it's a medical opinion or something...
