Looking for an alternate to NAVMAT P-9492 (ESS TESTS)

Looking for an alternate to NAVMAT P-9492 (ESS TESTS)

Looking for an alternate to NAVMAT P-9492 (ESS TESTS)

(OP)

1)Navmat P-9492 (Navy Manufacturing Screening Program, May 1979) provides guidance for conducting  thermal and vibration tests to eliminate most latent workmanship defects in  avionics electronic equipment. I understand  the doucment has been canceled.

2) I would like to know  if there is  any another (similar) document that is suitable, available and is currently used as a reference in military/commercial applications to conduct ESS tests (thermal/vibration) to eliminate latent workmanship defects.

Thank you.

RE: Looking for an alternate to NAVMAT P-9492 (ESS TESTS)

I don't think you need an alternative.  The so-called Willoughby profile is considered a starting point and as Tom Irvine has already pointed out the final screnn is what works best for the product.  That is a screen that weeds out defective units without damaging good ones.

MIL-HDBK-2164A ESS Process fo Electronic Engineering (for guidance only).
Tri-Service Technical Brief 002-93-08 Environmental Screening.
