Historic Rebar Grades

Historic Rebar Grades

(OP)
We have a project that will require retrofitting the existing foundations of a structure. The eixisitng foundations were built back around 1945-1950. The original blueprits that we have do not indicate concrete strength or rebar strength. Does anyone have any data on 'standard' concrete and rebar strengths from that time period?

Thanks.

RE: Historic Rebar Grades

The materials could vary considerably & I think it is pretty risky to use any sort of historical standard unless your building addition is pretty minor. Testing is not that expensive & will give you definite information.
