I have a vessle that I have to give the "P reduced" for but do not have any data on it since it's a new design.  Is there a way to figure this out without using the arbirary numbers described in the FM data sheet 7-76?  We are certain the cyclone can handle more than 4.4 psig but have not idea how to get this data.  Any help or a point in the right direction would be great! Thanks in advace!

Sure there is - I assume you have a construction drawing, know the grade of steel, the weld type/efficiency used.  

I use ASME vessel equations and various others originating from API and other sources.  I determine the weakest element using the design stress to base design pressure.

Pred equations are in NFPA 68 2007, Ch 6.3.  You decide if you will allow/disallow deformation in the event of a deflagration this determines if you factor against the ratio of yield or ultimate to the design pressure.
