Appendix D : Reinforcing

Appendix D : Reinforcing

(OP)
Folks,
Anyone of you know of good material that can be used for reading as far as the provision of anchor reinforcing that avoids the different concrete failure modes in shear and tension?

I am interested in the literature and testing pertaining to the new revisions of anchor reinforcing as permitted in ACI 318-08.

Thanks

RE: Appendix D : Reinforcing

Hi Slickdeals:

You'll find that a lot of the new information now being incorporated into the codes and standards has been around a while and as a result ACI Report "Recent Approaches to Shear Design of Reinforced Concrete" by ACI Committee 445.

I'll keep an eye out for anyone else's recommendations; Keen as well.

Hope that helps,
Cheers,

RE: Appendix D : Reinforcing

I found a great paper by Widianto, Chandu Patel, and Jerry Owen titled "Design of Anchor Reinforcement in Concrete Pedestals"

It is in a journal named CSA Today, Vol. III, No. 12 (never heard of CSA Today).  It looks like it was written for Bechtel.

It's a practical article with lots of references.

Yes, I saw the Bechtel article. It was quite informative.

Oddly enough, on aisc' site there is a webinar called steel design after college that has a part om anchor rods, and specifically on lapping them with reinforcement.   Pretty straight forward.  Basically you just need lap and proper development lengths.  Was put on by a guy from walter p Moore.
