Introduction to the Design and Behavior of Bolted Joints

Would it be a good idea to get the book published in 1990, secondhand, or do the later versions contain noticably more information? For reference: the new version costs over 4x the 1990 version.

Also, would the 4th edition (non-gasketed joints) (578 pages) replace the old version (709 pages), or is it a mere addition?

RE: Bickford's book on bolted joints

The fourth edition replaces most of the old version.  Bickford wrote a book on gasketed joints in 1997 that provides the other information from the old book.

You can buy the brand new fourth edition for USD 135, which is a good value.  I recommend getting it.

I have ordered the 1990 version, as the price difference was too big. Maybe one day... I still have much more books on my waiting list ...

RE: Bickford's book on bolted joints

I have Bickford and Nassar's
Handbook of Bolts and Bolted Joints

It's an excellent reference.
