End Cap Descriptions in Cut Lists

End Cap Descriptions in Cut Lists

End Cap Descriptions in Cut Lists

(OP)
Hello All,
I realise jefrado has asked this question before, but I wondered if anyone had come up with a solution in the mean time. If we try to create a cut list from a weldment, the end caps appear on the list with a blank entry. It is possible to enter a description manually in the model, but I would like to be able to assign the description automatically so that it won't be missed / ignored. Perhaps some sort of document property? Or a setting somewhere I can't see? We're running SW2009SP2.0
Thanks

RE: End Cap Descriptions in Cut Lists

Go into the cut list in the part. Right click on the folder for the cut list item you want. Choose properties. Enter the custom property that drives your drawing cut list, enter description.

yeah, that works, but is there a way to have some sort of document property that automatically puts "end cap" as the description on end caps?
