Has anyone heared of an old book on steel design by some one named LOTHERS? I would like to obtain a copy

RE: old book - LOTHERS

sometimes you can find books like that on ebay.  I have purchased several old structural text books, AISC and ACI manuals on there.  Also, Alibris books (www.alibris.com) has used books but might not have one that old.

RE: old book - LOTHERS

Lothers, 2nd ed, is a text which I still have from university days and occasionally use.  So I am hanging on to mine.  Looks like from the link Ron gave that it is easily obtainable.

RE: old book - LOTHERS

I am not sure of edition # but thats what I studied in engineering school in 1987-88

I got a copy (unfortunately from an engineer who passed away) and it' pretty good.  Good examples, real life cases, analyze and design.

RE: old book - LOTHERS

As a matter of interest what's so special about this book?

Two things are special
1. Sentimental ...I used it in when I was in engineering school in 1955  ha hah

rittz

I can relate to that.

My favourite text books at school in 1979 was "Timoshenko and Young Theory of Structures" and "Brezler, Lin and Scalzi Design of Steel structures" I still have them in my library and wouldn't be without them even if there hopelessly outdated.

Hope you find it eventually.
