FILE PREVIEW

FILE PREVIEW

(OP)
HELLO,

I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE KNEW OF A WAY TO PREVIEW DXF FILES IN AUTOCAD 2000i.  THANKS IN ADVANCE.

JEREMIAH

RE: FILE PREVIEW

i thought that was not possible until the file was once opened and saved as dwg.

RE: FILE PREVIEW

You can import it into a new drawing and either save it as a .dwg or not.
However, I don't recall seeing any options for previewing prior to an actual import.

RE: FILE PREVIEW

Dear Jeremiah;

The only solution I can think of is to get a free copy of the Volo View file viewer from AutoDesk and use that to preview the dxf files before attempting to import them into autocad. I am sure Volo View is not the only file viewer software that will do this.

Regards Adrian
