When using mechanical fasteners (for example Hilti X-EDNs) in lieu of puddle welding for diaphragm attachment of metal deck to joists/steel beams, at what frequency do you require the fasteners to be inspected (e.g. 10% of anchors etc)?

I could not find a standard governing inspection/special inspection of mechanical deck fasteners.

RE: Diaphragm Mechanical Fastener Inspections

I would use the same frequency as welding...at least 10% of the fasteners.  More if failure rate is greater than 10% of those inspected.

Ron - where is the 10% of puddle welds number found - AWS?
