PANEL VIEW 2711P ETHERNET

PANEL VIEW 2711P ETHERNET

(OP)
Hi..
I have been trying to connect my 2711P Panel View Plus 1000 to my machine ethernet based on a 1768-L43 with 1768-ENBT ethernet. All other ethernet devices within the network works fine and I can see them on RSLINX, but this HMI and my laptop (XP SP2). Does anyone knows any known issue when mapping this HMI model to this network type?
I have sent a ping from my laptop to the HMI IP address with good results, some for the other devices on the network.

Have you setup the communication shortcut in rslix enterprise target tab?  You must select the processor from there and apply the settings.  Once that is done open any of your displays and select and object and try to browse the tag online. If you are able to do this then you should be able to test run the display without any issues.

Thx. Forgot to mention that I am new with AB. Does this panel view can be detected with Rslinx classic or enterprise only? What about detection with Rslogix?

RE: PANEL VIEW 2711P ETHERNET

As supplied out of the box, the enthernet interface does not hav an IP address assigned. And I'm not sure that that interface will accept Bootp or DHCP IP address assigments. You can however assign an IP address using the boot up "application". Once an IP address is assigned, it will show up in RsLinx.

This is a free link to get you through the Comms configuration. See chapter 4 configuring the terminal.

Dumb question..are you using RSView ME (now factory talk) to set up your app?

I use a variety of HMI units AB/CTC interact, Wonderware and each requires a different hat.
Are the IP address of the HMI and the Processor on the same subnet?
RSlinx classic will show the unit if you add it to the ABETH-1 driver configuration list.

Thanks all...
The problem was easier to solve but hard to get to it. The laptop uses PC Tools Internet security that was actually avoiding my computer to see most of the network devices. I was told to turn it off, but certain components still working without being noticed. Finally, I turned it off and re-start the computer (the pc tools wont re-start on computer re-start), after this, all work cristal clear and we are back in route for programing the devices.

Thanks all again.
