Skymark VCD Tripping out!

Skymark VCD Tripping out!

Skymark VCD Tripping out!

(OP)
I am in the process of commissioning a Skymark VCD180 split unit. After a few minutes of running, the units tripped out. I have an air balancing contract and confirmed the air through the condenser to be adequate.

Besides a lack of flow through the condenser coils for cooling, what other factor can cause this unit to trip?

The size of refrigerant lines used is 1/2". The return freeon lines seem to be hotter than normal.

Thank you!

RE: Skymark VCD Tripping out!

High refrigerant pressure will shut the compressor down and high suction temps indicate high pressures.

You could also have a low pressure cutout.
This can be caused by no air flow over your evaporator and therefore not enough refrigerant is evaporated and the compressor empties the evaporator. This is the case when your fan in the FCU or AHU is not running.
Another one I have experienced is when you running at low ambient temperatures there is not enough pressure on the liquid side to get enough refrigerant to go through the TXV and you will also get that the compressor will empty the evaporator and get a low pressure cutout.  This was solved by putting a condenser fan speed control in based on the pressure at the condenser.
I have googled the model you have indicated, but cannot find it, so I have no details of your unit, but these were my experiences.

Did the unit trip on overload or safety?
