Variable Inlet Pressure

Variable Inlet Pressure

Variable Inlet Pressure

(OP)
Hello,

I'm working on a study of the compression system in a Gas field offshore unit (gas extraction and treatment). During the years the pressure and the flow (mass and volumetric) coming from the reservoir decreases considerably, but the discharge pressure remains constant due to the action of the control system, so I'm looking to VSD compressors. Right now, I was trying to understand what happens in a compression system when the inlet pressure drops along the years. Until now, I know that the power required also drops during the years and the velocity has to increase. However I can`t show it in the classical Graphics Pressure vs. Flow and Head vs. flow, it is very difficult to find any reference dealing with inlet variable pressure. It would very good if anyone could help me to clarify these subjects.

Thank you
Marcelo

Some extra information:

The study is about centrifugal compressors.

Does anyone knows what happens to the flow resitance curve when the inlet pressure drops?

Thank you
Marcelo
