Why can't I use the reference planes in Sketch?

Why can't I use the reference planes in Sketch?

Why can't I use the reference planes in Sketch?

(OP)
Hello guys,

Sometimes when in Sketch environment, I can't use the reference planes for dimensioning or constraining. I haven't discerned an intelligent pattern to this, it just happens sometimes. And more frequently in the past couple of days. I just deleted SE's Regedit entries yesterday, no change.

Any idea why it does that? Is it a bug, or a "feature"? Ideas on solving this?

I've been working heavily with SE for the past month. I love the software, but I feel like I have to wrestle what I need from it every minute of every day. It is getting really, really, REALLY tiring!!! (as in $%?&* piece of...)

Thanking you in advance for your help!

(P.S. I'm on ST traditional)

RE: Why can't I use the reference planes in Sketch?

it might be a graphics issue. I think something within the
graphics interface of SE has been changed in V20. I sometimes
have to cut back to 'Graphics card driven (basic)' or even
notch down to 'Backing store' to get rid of stray lines and
other debris.

Thanks Don,

My display was set to Automatic selection, and Backing store was chosen. I unchecked Automatic and set it to Graphics card driven (advanced), I'll see what happens.

I've also had this, where I could include from the plane parallel to the screen, but not the other 2.

Hi,

I think that sometimes, when Peer Edges is activated (Tools tab) it prevents you from referencing geometries in the active part like the reference planes.

What I do is that I activate Peer Edges only when I need it and disable it after use.

Fred,
I'll try that next time I have the problem.
