hi,all
When geometric nonliearity being considered in sap2000, three options could be chosed, "None", "P-Delta" and "P-Delta and Large Deformation". What is the difference between "P-Delta" and "Large Deformation"? Different algorithm?  Any comments will be appreciated.

You can read about the difference in the "SAP2000 analysis reference", chapter "Geometric nonlinearity" :) Also as I remember there is some info about that in the Help :)

Using large displacements also enables you to model some interesting dynamic phenomena, such as swinging pendulum or dropping of an object on a plane. Please see the links below for screenshots and videos:
