Camshaft Modeling in ANSYS (How to?)
Camshaft Modeling in ANSYS (How to?)
(OP)
I've been doing quite a bit of FEA lately in ANSYS v12, but overall i am fairly new to FEA.
I am trying to do a structural (transient) analysis on a camshaft I designed. I am not really sure how or what type of forces to apply on the cam lobes (resulting from direct acting hydraulic tappets) to closely model the situation. I will probably define the force tabularly from precalculated forces from the valvetrain, but how to accurately apply them is the problem. Accounting for the force rotating around the lobe as it spins and only acting on the desired portion. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Camshaft Modeling in ANSYS (How to?)
try to use APDL for the above mentioned method.
Hope i made my point clear. :)
