California and International Fire Code

California and International Fire Code

(OP)
I need help with a couple of Fire Code questions. From what I understand the 2007 California Fire Code is based on the 2006 International Fire Code. If this is correct, what version of the NFPA 24 and NFPA 13 are referenced in these two publications?

Also, the 2001 California Fire Code is based on 2000 Uniform Fire Code. I have the same question. What version of NFPA 24 and 13 are these based on?

I have a two projects that were approved; one under the 2007 CFC and the other under the 2001 CFC and need to coordinate NFPA code compliance. Your explanation is greatly appreciated.

RE: California and International Fire Code

Chapter 45 of the CFC lists all the reference standards referred to in the CFC.  The references include the version/year of the standard.

Grenone,
Thank you for pointing that out. It greatly reduced my research time since I was not too acquainted with the Fire Code.

Everyone,
For those of you in California or working in California projects (and may not be aware of this - I wasn't) in my reaserch I found something that can be valuable if you need to access codes but they may not be accessible to you. They are available through the California Building Standards Commission at http://www.bsc.ca.gov/default.htm. Follow the links or you can call their offices for direction.

Hope this helps.
