Q235 Material

Q235 Material

(OP)
Ive got a competitor that selling some product at about half of what I am. I dont know why. But he is using Q235 steel. What is it? Im guessing its a Chinese import. But what the make up of it and it engineering properties?

I want to be able to tell my customers that my product is better, stronger, SAFER than the chinese alternative.

RE: Q235 Material

The nominal composition of Q235 is C-0.17%, Mn-0.48%, Si-0.28%,S-0.018 and P-0.028%. This is close to 1020 grade steel.

Comparison of steel prices from China is not simple. There are many commercial and technical issues involved.
