Pressure regulator for gas with variable feed pressure

Pressure regulator for gas with variable feed pressure

Pressure regulator for gas with variable feed pressure

(OP)
We need a pressure regulator to reduce gas feed from variable 1-10 barg (15-150 psig) supply, to reduce pressure to a steady 0.5 barg (7 psig), regardless of fluctuations in feed pressure.  (feed pressure fluctuation will be slow ie due to the reduction in pressure in the gas receiving vessel as we remove the gas) The reason we need 0.5 barg is we are removing from gas receiving vessel via compressor which can only handle max 0.5 barg feed.  The gas is industrial stack gas consisting of mostly N2 and CO.  Does anyone have advice as to what type of regulator to buy, and who are possible suppliers?

RE: Pressure regulator for gas with variable feed pressure

A Fisher 99 regulator comes to mind but you'd have to check the exact pressure specs to see if it covers that range.  I'm sure there are other manufacturers as well, these are just ones I commonly see.

You probably want to look in to Fairchild and probably consider using 2 stage regulator instead of 1, that would help protects the compressor in the case the primary regulator fails.
