Steam Accumulator

Steam Accumulator

(OP)
First, I would like to say thank you for taking the time to read my post.  Second, this is my first post so I hope it is in the right area.

Anyway, I am in the process of designing an accumulator for my companies steam system.  We have an electric steam generator designed for 600 lb/h @ 135psig.  The steam load goes in 30 second cycles where we draw 4 lb/h in 3 seconds @ 70 psig then the accumulator has 27 seconds to regenerate before the next cycle.

Dropping the steam pressure form 135psig to 70psig yields 5.2% flash.

Can anyone help me out here?  I spent numerous hours last weekend running in circles trying to comprehend the Spirax Sarco reading.

THANKS AGAIN!!!

RE: Steam Accumulator

your ussage is too small for spirax calculator.
calculating acc's is time consuming and sometimes uncertain.
you are shrt injust 1 lb. and need just a small reservoir/accumulator,
you probably need expert advise,
genblr   p.s. shodn't be 3lb and not 3lbs/h?

Gen8,  yes sir it should be 3 lbs and would a dry accumulator work in this application?

RE: Steam Accumulator

it would work but it may become larger pv,
wet would be better
