Catia V4 .model: Open in V5 or ProE - save as Step file - for GibbsCam

Catia V4 .model: Open in V5 or ProE - save as Step file - for GibbsCam

Please HELP!

Catia .model assembly file.
Open in Catia V5, file has *MASTER, *DRAFT, 2 sub-parts, and SHEET(the Drawing for the model).

I have Catia V5 (OFF maintenance) I don't know Catia very well.

I have ProE WF4 and I can open the file but when I save as a Step file (Solids)and try to open the Step file up in ProE I don't see the model.

I want to "Save as" a Step file so our machine shop using GibbsCam software can open the step file and machine the part.

Is the SHEET 1 drawing causing a problem?

RE: Catia V4 .model: Open in V5 or ProE - save as Step file - for GibbsCam

Copy the V4 Solid(s)under the Master Tab, create a new V5 part, Paste Special (Catia Spec). Save the V5 Catpart, then output as STEP or IGES.

Better yet - Start a new product, and insert the V4 file as an "existing component".  Then save as STEP.
