I am specifying anchor bolts for mounting a continuous cold metal framed boxed header supporting 8" cold metal framed rafters into an interior composite wall of cmu & solid concrete columns. I am looking at the 3/8" dia. red-head dynabolt sleeve anchors for ease of installation. Is there any reason to go with carbon vs. stainless? I understand that carbon has a higher strength, but would there be any concern for corrosion with one or the other? This is an interior space w/ no freezing/moisture issues. I'm guessing the carbon is more expensive. Shear with a safety factor of 4 is only 412 Lbs so I'm not too concerned with the ability of the anchor, just carbon vs. stainless.

If there's no moisture or corrosive environments then I see no reason to go stainless. Also, carbon (that I've seen) is never more expensive than stainless as stainless is roughly around 7 times more expensive than carbon steel.

Thanks. I realized this when I went to Lowe's to look at the anchors to see what all the fuss was about. Once they removed the material covering the existing wall, we found out that the wall was not according to the as-builts, but was in fact 2x10 16 ga studs so this solved our debate quickly. Thanks for the response though.
