LPG STORAGE AND HANDLING FACILITES

LPG STORAGE AND HANDLING FACILITES

(OP)
HI,

my question is about LPG storage facilities(high capcity)

what is the greatest capcity for lpg storage and handling facilities  that can be constructed and what type of tanks is the most appropriate,

if possible examles over the world

I need informations about this topic please

thank you very much.

RE: LPG STORAGE AND HANDLING FACILITES

I've seen at least 20 million barrels in storage using underground embedded salt or saltdomes.  Google those words for information.

The next largest containers are refrigerated low pressure tanks that can reach 50,000 bbls.  The operate at 10 psig or so.

More typical are high pressure tanks that operated at 250 psig.  they are typically 30,000 gallons to 120,000 gallons.

Some local jurisditions only ally a limited number of tanks in one area.  You may only be able to have 240,000 gallons together and then another set of tanks with 100 to 200 feet of seperation.

RE: LPG STORAGE AND HANDLING FACILITES

Storage caverns include solution mined salt domes or salt layers and excavated or mined caverns, etc.  PB Engergy lists a 40 bcf natural gas storage facility in the UK among their projects.  A search for "storage cavern development" should identify several of the key contractors in the market.

RE: LPG STORAGE AND HANDLING FACILITES

I was commissioning manager on the Ratnigiri LNG terminal in India this year and the annual capacity of the facility is one million tonnes. It will be even higher when they build the breakwater to get more tankers in.
