Odd view problem after Divide Part feature

Odd view problem after Divide Part feature

(OP)
Hello,

I have an odd problem after dividing a part using the Divide Part feature in the Surfacing tab of ST.

When I work in the child part, any surface I create from offset, copy face, inter-part copy etc. is transparent with black edges in shaded views, instead of being the green construction default. I've looked everywhere to see if it's some kind of setting. Using the Part Painter doesn't do anything. This is driving me nuts!

Anyone knows how to correct this?

Thanks!

OK, I found it.

In Solid Edge Options, View section, "Use shading on constructions" must be checked. What I don't understand is why it unchecked itself in the first place! Oh well...
