slc 500 help????

(OP)
Hi All.

Sorry its my first post but i have never needed any info proir to now.

I have a SLC 500 1747-l40c and i am having issues with it.

It had a fault so i sent it to be fixed and its been returned and its all reinstalled.

My problem now is i have no input or output lights and nothing works on the machine?

The run light is on and power but thats it? i also had a eprom installed when it was fixed.

Any ideas? im at my wits end.

Cheers In advance

RE: slc 500 help????

If it was sent out and repaired, then returned, it likely does not have your program in it.  Did you reload your application after installing it?

You'll need to connect to the processor with RS Logix and look at the processor status.  Even if it has an EEPROM installed, unless the proram is correctly setup to load from the EEPROM it won't work.

You might try turning the keyswitch all the way to program, then all the way back to run (not REM). And see if it starts to work, otehrwise you'l need to connect to it with the programming software.  Do you have a backup copy of the application (.rss) file?

Ahhh I should have said it was reprogramed when the EPROM was fitted.

But even without a program the input lights should come on when function is selected? Or not?

Cheers

RE: slc 500 help????

Yes I agree that the input LEDs should illuminate if energized even with no program.  Go and measure voltage at the input and verify it is there or not.

Think I have found the problem as a faulty power supply.

Thanks for the input peeps.

I'll be back on if there is any further issues
