Falling Weight Deflectometer

Falling Weight Deflectometer

Falling Weight Deflectometer

(OP)
1-How long does it take to perform each falling weight deflectometer test?
2-Any special requirement for airport testing?

Thanks

RE: Falling Weight Deflectometer

Each data point takes about 1 to 2 minutes.  If you are doing load transfer across joints, the test takes slightly longer, just because you have to be sure where the accelerometers fall across the joint.

The special setup for airport work is that you use a higher load set.  The use of a heavy duty FWD would be better for airport work.

Is the data point=point on the curve (sensor reading)?
I am truying to estimate the time needed to do 20 tests at 20 different locations using HFWD.
Thanks.

RE: Falling Weight Deflectometer

No more than a couple of hours.  Figure 4 hours at most, but you'll probably pay for a whole day of FWD time and mobilization.
