thanks Biginch, but I never saw this before. I thought SW check valve doesn't need maintain.

If its got moving parts, its just a matter of time and severity of service.

some check valves have a top cap which can be taken off to remove the plate and pivot assembly for service

Install unions up & downsteam of the check valve. Unions are probably part of your piping spec. and would allow removal of the check valve

normally sw check valve is 2" and below, it doesn't serve frequently, such as surge, blow down...so, I guess this is the reason there is not a removeable pup, we can fix smalll problem on site by opening the top cap. but if it is used in frequent operation place, it has to have removable pup.

am I right, guys?

Must admit that a flanged pup defeats the reason for using socket welds in the first place.
