Logarithmic Strain output in ABAQUS

Logarithmic Strain output in ABAQUS

Logarithmic Strain output in ABAQUS

(OP)
I am compressing a hyperelastic material in ABAQUS Standard. When I am visualizing my results I get a large negative logarithmic strain (< -1). How is it possible to have a strain smaller than -1 in compression (LE22)? Thanks

Richard

RE: Logarithmic Strain output in ABAQUS

10 to the power -1 is 0.1 , 10 to the power -2 is 0.01 the larger the negative number is, the smaller the strain is.

Or have I completely misunderstood your question?

RE: Logarithmic Strain output in ABAQUS

Depending on how much you compress, you can get such a result.
