Heat Exchanger pressure drop/flow

Heat Exchanger pressure drop/flow

Heat Exchanger pressure drop/flow

(OP)
Dear all can any one tell me the what will be the effect on delta P and flow if nos of plate incraeses in a plate type heat exchanger keeping same flow at inlet of the heat exchanger

is there any formula to calculate the exact pressure drop/flow

thx in advance

RE: Heat Exchanger pressure drop/flow

Keeping the same flow at the inlet means that the number of plates will not impact on the flow.

RE: Heat Exchanger pressure drop/flow

I've seen an equation for ΔP in the 8th edition of Perry's ChE Handbook, apparently quoted from APV's handbook.

If you can obtain access to a copy, see:

Fundamentals Of Heat Exchanger Design - Ramesh K. Shah & Dusan P. Sekulic, c 2003

Chapter 6, Pages 396-399, Equation 6.44, Example 6.3

RE: Heat Exchanger pressure drop/flow

I think the equation to which 25362 refers is Equation 11-79.
