reducer piping fittings

(OP)
Hi everybody,

I have a question related with concentric reducer fitting. I am working with a tipic pipe class and it is defined 1/2 to 2" reducer fitting acording B16.11 socket welding and 2.1/4 to 12" reducer fitting acording B16.9 butt weld. My question is what kind of fitting I have to use if I need to reduce from 3 to 2, B16.11 or B16.9?

Thanks in advance.

RE: reducer piping fittings

I would use a 3" (BLE) x 2" (PSE) Swedge Nipple (B16.11)

RE: reducer piping fittings

I'll second pennpiper, when one of your line sizes is 2" or less you use swage nipple.
