Normal view when creating sketch

Normal view when creating sketch

RE: Normal view when creating sketch

The plane rotates to the Normal to orientation automatically when starting new Sketch. Would you like to turn off this option?

RE: Normal view when creating sketch

As far as I know this only occurs for the first sketch in a part.  The option would be nice, though.

RE: Normal view when creating sketch

I'd put in an enhancement request to give an option in System Options > Sketch to "Orient to 2d sketch view on creation On/Off"

If you add that this is supported functionality in Inventor, it usually helps.

I like the fact that in SolidWorks if you're editing a sketch Normal To icon automatically activates the Sketch X-Y view orientation.

You can add a Shortcut Key in Tools > Customize > Keyboard
N = Normal To

Then hit N after activating Insert Sketch.

RE: Normal view when creating sketch

I remember this option was earlier there in SW2006 and has been removed after SW2007.

You can also create a macro that automatically starts the sketch and sets the view to NormalTo.
