NX Palettes

NX Palettes

(OP)
Does anybody know of a way to import part files to another from a palette in NX5? I have pre-built assemblies which contain components and solid geometry that I would like the users to be able to import.

Thanks,
EE

RE: NX Palettes

Are you talking about 'importing' an NX part file INTO the part file on the screen, as a COMPONENT, by dragging it from a Resource bar Palette?  If so, YES.  But if you're talking about adding the part file to the current file, but NOT as a component, but instead perform the equivalent of...

File -> Import -> Part...

...that's not possible.  Generally speaking, you can either drag from a palette, a complete Part and add it as a Component to an Assembly, or if it's only a feature or group of features, you can reference that on a Palette and treat them as if they were User Defined Features which get added to the actual part model in the current part.
