NX6 - Drafting, detail view hatching is inconsistent
NX6 - Drafting, detail view hatching is inconsistent
(OP)
I am having issues with detail views taken from a section view.
Some of the detail views may be hatched, some not, and some partially hatched. The models (it occurs in more than one drawing) are quite simple, and all the detail views should be fully hatched. There appears to be no rhyme nor reason why this is happening. Changes to a model that should have no bearing on a detail view, will often cause a detail view to loose or gain its hatching after the drawing is updated.

Here ya go.

Which beings me to the question, in both examples, was the Crosshatch automatically added to the original section view as part of a create section view operation?

I suspect that if you adjust your hatching adjacency tolerances and/or the general tolerances for the hatched detail views and then perhaps turn the hatching off and on again that it may decide to behave. It appears to be problematic on occasion that the original view being say half the size does create itself okay, but when you add a detail view you are taking a copy and doubling the size apparently without re-evaluating the tolerances really carefully.
It may also be something to do with trying to blow up the hatching with the other elements of the view so if all else fails tinker with the spacing in the cross-hatching style.

I'll try adjusting the tolerances as has been suggested. Unfortunately, I'm not at my desk today so I'll have to get back later in the week with the results.

Selecting a view, then editing the View Style allowed me to tweak the Crosshatch Adjacency Tolerance. However nothing seemed to work, even after toggling the Crosshatch checkbox.
What did work however, was turning on Hidden Line Hatching, then toggling the Crosshatch checkbox. I have never used Hidden Line Hatching, and frankly I don't know why it do anything in this case (there are no hidden lines). It did though, so I'm a happy camper now.

My supervisor was luke warm to the idea of uploading the model, but I've modified I sufficiently to avoid any hassles. I quickly recreated the drawing example (the one with 3 sectioned details) and the same hiccup occurs, namely the detail crosshatch does not always appear. Again, toggling the Hidden Line Hatching in the Section tab of View Style solves my problem.
I was unable to replicate the detail view that had the incomplete crosshatch (the detail view on the right side of the example I submitted to this thread). Possibly because I simplified the model?
Anyways, I'm away all next week. Provided I get some info, (perhaps a link to a FAQ) on how to submit the files to GTAC, I'll upload them the first week of August.
