Dear friends,

I need some big help here, hopefully someone can give a hand on this.

I am a new user in ABAQUS. I am trying to solve a model (e.g. a plate) with applying Tensile Loading and Temperature at the same time.

I already done applying Tensile Loading section. The tensile loading is applied at the end of the horizontal plate. My model is a 1/8 sized of the whole plate (e.g. only top right corner section). And I also applied the Mech. Symm. BCs with "3D stress" element type. Up to this stage, everything looks good.

But now I would like to simulate a model is heated from -60 degree to +60 degree (from inital to the static step). I would like to simulate the stress difference on the plate (with still applying tensile loading) between different temperatures.

In such, how can I achieve this based on the model i did?

1) Do I still use "3D stress" element type?
2) Do I need to apply the thermal BCs or thermal Loading or thermal predefine fields?
3) Do I need to load the "body heat flux" value in order to solve this simulation?
