42 V 3 ph motor?

42 V 3 ph motor?

42 V 3 ph motor?

We got some inquires for rotary electric vibrators, using 42 VAC 3 phase.  Anyone heard of such service?  Where is this used?   (We thought this inquiry was a typo, then we got a few more.)

RE: 42 V 3 ph motor?

There is a safety level that ends just above 40V.  Recall auto makers going to 42V?  Same reason.

This could be it.   Never heard of vibrators at that voltage though.

RE: 42 V 3 ph motor?

42V seems to be a voltage used by a few OEMs to make it difficult to attain spare parts other than through them.

Jeff

Other than the winding (and possibly terminal studs to suit higher currents at 42 V), what other spare parts would be 'proprietary' items that had to be sourced only from the OEM's ?

RE: 42 V 3 ph motor?

How about special shafts and special flange mountings?
