Schematic Diagrams

Schematic Diagrams

(OP)
In the next month or two I will be teaching a class to some first year electrical engineers.  The topic of the class is schematic diagrams and trip and close circuit design.  I am looking for some reference material to put together a powerpoint slide show.  Can anyone help me?

Anyone?

RE: Schematic Diagrams

What sort of material? I can probably dig out a couple of diagrams of VCB or ACB control circuits, might have a couple for a big 275kV SF6 breaker too. For symbols there is the IEC 617 and the derived national standards. Publishing email addresses and phone numbers breaks the site rules so you need to think about how people might be able to send you stuff.

RE: Schematic Diagrams

In commercial aviation I work with 3 types of DWGs that look like what people call schematics.

Wiring Diagrams
Schematics
Re-work DWGs.

They all have wires and elecrical symbols but the content and organization varies with the specific purpose.

Some of that comes from industry manual specifications and some from experience.

It's probably different for different specialties.

RE: Schematic Diagrams

There's a chapter in the Book "The Art Of Electronics" [Horowitz and Hill) on construction techniques, schematic drawing, etc. that is very good.  Highly recommended (the entire book).
