acme nut binding in hole

(OP)
hello - i have a situation where i have an acme nut that turns into a blind hole to drive a heavily loaded table up & down on an acme screw - the problem is comming from when the acme screw bottoms out the table in the full down position the nut is binding up in the hole & will not turn -
the nut is made of ductile iron the housing of the blind hole is steel along w/ the acme screw - is there an easy way to keep the load off the acme threads or to stop the screw from comming down on top the nut - the enviroment the nut & screw work in is high temp & lubrication is almost daily - the spavce is very limited between the underside of the table & the top of the nut - any help or suggestions would be greatlt appreciated - thank you
