is there an alternative to teflon as pipe coating?

is there an alternative to teflon as pipe coating?

(OP)
gentlemen,

we have a fluid with a high ph that if left unchecked, could create scaling in our piping system. in order to bring down the ph level of the fluid, sulfuric acid with ph at 3 was injected into the pipeline. this sulfuric acid then mixes with the fluid to attain the ph to the level of 5 to 6.

the problem is that our acid injection nozzles do not last long. we decided to replace these nozzles with alloy 20 and also required that teflon coating shall be applied.

however, we haven't had received any bids for the teflon coating and bidders are asking for an alternative. any suggestions, gentlemen?

as usual, thank you very much indeed.

RE: is there an alternative to teflon as pipe coating?

Consider replacing the nozzles with solid teflon.

Take a look at Crane Resistoflex. http://www.resistoflex.com/solid.asp

They also make lined CS versions
