Deleting a toolbox part number

Deleting a toolbox part number

Deleting a toolbox part number

(OP)
In a custom toolbox, I have been working to condense the available parts to those we have available rather than all in a particular standard.  I copied the Ansi Inch toolbox and hid all the parts he do not use and gave part numbers and descriptions to those we do.  One of the files in the toolbox turned out to be corrupted (a self-tapping hex washer screw) and had to have the source file replaced, which I did.  This did not fix the corruption, but creating a new configuration of the part with the same dimensions seems to have avoided that particular problem.  However, both the new configuration and the old appear in the part number drop-down box when inserting the part into an assembly, even though the old part number has been erased from the toolbox.  The two configurations have the same part number (making it appear twice in the list), which is bad.

How do I get rid of the old part number and description from my available options?
